Lucas Kavner’s new play takes place in a fictional internet news outlet called Clickshare. The employees post thousands of stories, slideshows and videos a day. They live and die for clicks. But when a story hits too close to home, the company ethos is tested, driving one group of Clicksharers to the brink of destruction.
Workshopped over the course of one week, the play had its first staged reading on September 5th, 2014. The cast included Bill Army ’07, Alex Draper ’88, Cassidy Freeman ‘04.5, Tara Giordano ’02, Nicholas Hemmerling ‘14.5 and Joseph Varca ’02.
Cassidy Freeman ‘04.5 introduced students to three types of on-camera auditions they will encounter in the professional world, including a self-taped submission. Students were assigned scripted material, and mock auditions were held for each type of audition. They worked specifically on television and film material and received feedback and adjustments from our professional teaching artists.
Throughout the week, students also had the opportunity to connect with our alumni volunteers during Q+A sessions and luncheon discussions.
